Introducing Amber Hardison!

Chances are, you have seen our newest instructor around the studio over the last few years as an avid rider and integral part of our community. We are so excited to introduce Amber Hardison as a member of the Rêve Team! We caught up with her and chatted about what brought her to the instructor podium, how she curates her epic playlists, and where we might find her outside of the studion. Be sure to catch her class each Friday at 8:00 am!

I ride at Rêve because…of the community, the experience, and what Rêve stands for as a whole. It is an inviting, supportive, and encouraging space that has helped me on and off the bike!

Teaching’s a big job! What elements are you most excited for and what makes your class unique?Teaching is a huge job! I am so excited to get to know this community better and help them push past obstacles - mentally and physically! Everyone has a story and everyone is battling something in their lives. Being able to come together as a team to ride for 50 minutes, despite what is going on outside the studio, is such a grounding experience. My hope is to provide a platform where we can ride, sweat, and grow together!

My favorite moment in class is when…you feel the energy take over your body when your sprinting out in third. From the build that gets you amped up to when the beat drops and you just go! Something about that feeling gives me extra power that I didn't know was there before.

The most challenging part about becoming an instructor has been becoming comfortable with being uncomfortable. There is a level of transparency that you have to have up on the podium - and letting go of the fear of judgment can be really difficult. Sometimes we are our own worst enemy, and if you let the "what ifs" creep in and take over, you can never just let go and be 100% authentic. However, I have never seen such a supportive group of people like the Rêve community that are behind you cheering you on.

Some songs you’ll definitely find on my first few playlists will be…I love creating a playlist that mixes in songs from the 80's, 90's, and 00's, especially those fun, upbeat songs that you most likely know the words to and can't stop yourself from singing along with! There is also SO much new stuff that I hear playing around the studio that I like incorporating into my playlists. One Republic has been taking over my life right now, but expect some Michel Jackson, Coldplay, Kygo, Hall & Oats, Rihanna, John Mayer, and NSYNC.

When I'm not at the studio, you can find me....with family and friends! In the warmer seasons, I like all things outdoors- hiking, camping, swimming, fishing, and BBQing! Realistically though, I love my couch and Netflix just as much :)
